I  am a primary teacher and Google for Education Trainer  in London.  I use google tools extensively; presenting Google slides, chrome casting, using Chromebooks, utilising Google classroom and much more.

While teaching in a large primary  school (900+ pupils) I increasingly realised that some of the tools I was using instinctively, some of my colleagues had not even considered or thought were too complicated to even attempt.   Too often, I found teacher training was entirely focused on pedagogical curriculum based practise and never on the day to day skills expected 'behind the scenes'.    I embarked on the journey to become a Google Trainer, leading training sessions and mentoring fellow educators to help lift up their own technology skills and improve the efficiency of internal school business.   I strongly believe Google for Education skills are not just for teachers, but all school members; including admin, leadership, pupils and parents.

On this website, I have separated tips into 'School Efficiency'  and 'Lesson tools and Ideas' to distinguish between pedagogy and the more 'office' workplace aspect of schools. Though, it is important to remember that they are not mutually exclusive and indeed many of these tips and tricks can be used in and out of the classroom. I hope that by  sharing some shortcuts,  demystifying Google tools and sharing lessons that I have found worked well in the hope that others else can also benefit.

I am by no means an expert and have lots to learn.  So please do reach out on the contact form if you notice that the method I have shared is not the most efficient or would like more advice.
